Let them know you probably will be needing some help with transportation. There are many volunteer drivers all over the country who will help you with transportation. I am one of their volunteer drivers in my area. I see all kinds of people with some only needing to go a few miles to others who commute to centers hours away. The ACS will even help you to pay for prescriptions and/or travel expenses up to $300. Where there is a will, there's a way! OCF is full of very important info that will help get you thru this phase of your life. People here really do care about each other, we are all in our own little club and we hate getting new members. If your current facility does not endorse you going for a second opinion that should be a big red flag to head for the cancer center.
