Hi Nate. This post is probably to late to help you today. My husband had weekly Cisplatin in conjunction with the radiation. He had radiation Monday through Friday and then every Friday after radiation he had the Cisplatin. This was for 7 weeks. They coordinated it so he had the radiation and Cisplatin together. The way they explained it to us was that the Cisplatin enhances the radiation since chemo alone doesn't do anything for this type of cancer. When John would have the Cisplatin they would first give him anti-nausea meds through his IV. John took both Zofran and Compazine all through treatments and afterwards. Midway through treatments when the mucus got so bad he was constantly nauseas. Good luck and just take each treatment as it comes. We had a calendar on the refrigerator that we would cross each day off.
