Hi Delly, I think that if he can swallow and he is not coughing then he's ok. While Dad is undergoing radiation, he must be being seen , at least weekly, by the Radiation Oncologist. Go with him to this appointment and insist that he is seen by a speech therapist. Ask for an urgent referral. As a patient who has had a total Glossectomy he must be seen by a Speechie, to help him with both speech and swallowing. ( though I think he is doing well with the swallowing despite the surgeon).
