Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,219 | I can safely say that you will not find anyone posting in this forum that would not advise your father to try whatever is made available to him to try to prove that it is NOT too late. There are many Stage 3 and Stage 4 survivors here.
I would suggest that he seek treatment at a CCC (comprehensive cancer center).
I like emmylou's point!!! If your dad doesn't think his life is worth spending money on to save, it is time for you to step in and convince him he is worth it.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.
