There was a patient in the bed next to Tom on Wednesday night, or I think I could have persuaded them to let me stay with him. It is depressing to go to bed without him. The 'neighbor's bed' is empty now, but I've got appts at 7 am and noon tomorrow, so it would not make sense for me to stay over tonight

I'm on my way out the door to see him now. Hoping to hear that his blood tests are coming back in the right range so he can come home tomorrow. How boring can it must be - - can't even "look forward" to meal time!!
