OP      Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts)    Joined:  Jun 2007  Posts: 5,260  |      I bought some fatty pork the other day and put it in the slow cooker with plenty of onions, chicken broth, celery and carrots. It all eneded up tender and soft , but too tough for my mouth. I got out the blender and really let it do it's job. LOL  It looked like babyfood when I shut the blender off. Nasty looking stuff but put over bread with a lot of butter made it work, The 1st bite or 2 had the normal taste and after ti could have been filet mignon or whatever, LOL, it all taste the same after #1Bite        
     Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan.  I averaged  about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there.  w  Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube .  Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April. --- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here
