Mom looked at her scars as battle scars. Nothing to be ashamed. It's a disease you wear on your face for the most part which makes it a million times harder than others.
I will never forget the day we were in the grocery store shortly after mom finished radiation and a little kid was staring at her. Mom didn't care, kids will be kids. It was when the mother stared as well that mom felt the need to actually growl at them! It was hysterical. The lady was so mad!
Please don't stay inside! Wear your battle scars proudly! and growl when necessary, it will make you feel better!

Lost my mother, Minnie, to Oral Cancer October 29th, 2008. I am so thankful she had the OCF to help her through her five year struggle.
