Wow - crazy story.. so glad your mom is doing better. It sounds to me like she didn't have any radiation or chemo as follow up. This is good in one way (less fall out symptoms) but also something to keep an eye on. She needs to be very very diligent with her mouth. If she spots even the smallest thing that seems abnormal, or a lump in her neck she needs to get back to her dr. immediately.
