Wow Cheryl, what you went through is almost identical to what I went through, I only had 2 out of about 10 that were good, the rest were terrible. One nurse tried to feed me through the tube and gave me way too much too early making me vomit all over myself, she was young and very rude and said that she didn't need to clean me up in case I vomit again, and the next shift could take care of me...so she left me in my puke for hours, I was helpless. I feel for ya, the phlem and the trach were the worse part with me as well. Some nurses get into this mode where they forget we are humans and show no empathy or sympathy at all. Please report the bad behaviour to Dr. Irish, or they will never change. I reported the one nurse when I was being released and could speak again, was glad to find out she got let go soon after.
