Hi Lottie - Don't know if this will help you, but my husband has had both cancers all over and a while back, had a pre-melanoma (dr. didn't know whether it would have actually turned to a melanoma or not) on his leg removed. He has had both basal cell and SCC removed from his face and skin. This is besides his 3 oral SCCs. Now they found a small basal cell on his external nose which he will have Mohs surgery on next week. He doesn't have HPV. Hope this helps. Some seem to be more susceptible to skin cancers than others, unfortunately.

Husband: 3 SCC gum and cheek cancers 2002, 2005, 2006: surgery only. Scans clear after removal of small, well differentiated, non-invasive cancers. No radiation. 4th SCC lip diagnosed 4/13/07 - in situ, removed in biopsy. More lip removed 2/8/08 - dysplasia. 2 Biopsies 3/17/09 no cancer (lichenoids)
