MargieL "OCF Down Under" Supporting Member (50+ posts) Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 51 Coffs Harbour, Australia	Hi....I had my first dilatation on Wednesday, I had a general anaesthetic which was good. I was very nervous, my throat is very sore so I guess I will know is a few days whether it worked or not. The surgeon told my I may have to have it done every month or so for a while, but will have to wait to see how this one went. SCC Base of tongue stage 4. 10 hour operation Radical neck dissection and hemiglossectomy 23/10/06 35 Rad treatments and 3 high dose Cistplatin Dec 06 - Feb 07. Ex casual smoker 6 to 8 a day - casual drinker. Very fit and diet conscious.
