I think the return to work time frame is all over the board. What kind of work do you do?

Don't get too discouraged with the recovery, our doctors told us it takes about one month for each week of radiation to "recover". And, even after that time my husband required far more calories and far more sleep than pre-treatment.

If you can, try to get more calories in. It was a good year before weight started to come back on for my husband. He had to buy new clothes to return to work because nothing fit.

Post treatment, when his mouth was healed, he'd easily down 5000 calories a day and still had trouble gaining weight.

Dx 5/18/07 SCC, BOT, lymph node involvement. T1N2BM0. (Stage 4a, G2/3)
Tx 6/18 - 8/3/07, IMRT x 33 Cisplatin x3 (stopped after 1st dose due to hearing issues). Weekly Erbitux started 6/27/07 completed 8/6/07.
