Welcome to OCF and Happy Holidays. I also had a burning sensation on one side of my tongue that two or three doctors ignored. Eventually, I found one that took control and saved my life. If I was you I would be persistent in getting to the the bottom of your problem. I would also stop using tobacco and alcohol based products immediately. Whatever is causing the burning there is no reason to agitate it more by smoking a cigarette, it's not worth it. There are a number of ways a biopsy can be performed in order to diagnose your problem and that's what I would pursue by asking questions and getting answers from the doctors. Remember, this is your health and life you are dealing with and I'm sure you heard the old saying, "The squeaky wheel gets the oil." Don't stress over it, just get to the bottom of it in order to address the problem. There is no reason for you to be living with a burning sensation...no reason.
Others will have great advice for you...And again enjoy the Holidays the best you can and don't stress yourself out...You'll be fine.
Good luck and keep us posted.
