Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 945 | Not all nursing homes are the same. The unit that my dad was in under hospice was wonderful. The wound care specialist treated the weeping in his lower leg so effectively his last days were comfortable ... and he was under a DNR.
My father in law is in a memory care home, and has been doing well for over two years.
I know that our family is very lucky in this.

PET Scans 6/2011 + 3/2012 clear, 5 year physical exam clear; chest CT's clear of cancer. On thyroid pills. Life is good.
