The guest speaker was a woman from the State who handles patient care complaint investigation. She had taught nursing for many year and had quite a resume.
It was really quite informative and she stressed that we should appeal anything that our Insurance denies because over 90% of the time they will pay it on appeal if it is medically necessary and in California this should include medically necessary dental.
She pasted out info on how to contact 'Patient Advocacy'.
Next month are Cancer Nutritionist.
In two month we are have a Radiation Oncologist from the Scripps Clinic Cancer Center. I hope he is ready for one of our normal three hour Q&A sessions.

This area would be hard pressed to have a support group unless we could get the Ohio Valley involved. Good idea for sure tho. I know there are many in the valley but getting them interested might be a full time job.

Although even a general support group for cancer patients/survivors would be helpful. I have spoken with a number of folks who have other types of cancer, and it is surprising how many of us have gone through the same thing.
