The one thing that I did for myself during treatment and recovery was to finish one of the degrees that I had been pecking at for years!
While I probably won't ever use the degree at my age, it was a good distraction and victory while I battled "the dragon". Don't give up your life goals, even if you have to delay them.
The cheers of my students, friends and family as I gimped across that stage still echo, and I might just finish other degrees that are nearly complete as well.
And as a teacher, I want to say...
Get to the homework! I wanna see an "A" [[:-)

ENT conjectures before, no PET approved by HMO. Metastasis 11/06. CT 2/07: mass RT sub-mandibular gland. 7 CM mass/tonsil, base of tongue removed, biopsies 2/07 and 3/07. Vein lost, RT face numb. PET scan: spot in chest, un-investigated. Oral surgery 4/07. 3X Cisplatin and 32X IMRT from 4/07-5/07.
