Hi Gary and everyone else,
my boyfriend is 14 weeks after his last radiotherapy session, he had a modified radical neck dissection before that.
He swells up on the jaw line as well. Sometimes he looks like a hamster. We asked the consultants in hopsital and they said it is just the lymph trying to find a new path after the other lumph nodes were removed. Sometimes the lymph styas stuck there. They have said they will send him for some special massages to stimulate the circulation of the lymph, but at the moment he is still too sore. Apparently it does sort itself out eventually, the lymph adapts and finds a new way to flow, it just needs a little help sometimes.
I hope this helps a little?
