Hi Jim,

I know David has cautioned already about Carnation VHC causing dehydration but I wanted to bring it up again since some of us are using it on a daily basis. I use about 5 cans a day and in the beginning I didn't know about the dehydration factor. Boy did I find out the tough way. With the flu and being dehydrated already from the VHC, my skin went crazy. I could NOT stop itching, I dug myself raw in at least 20 places all over my body. It's just now starting to heal and I make sure to put a full 16 oz of water in with each can AND an extra 8 oz twice a day. It really has made a difference. Sorry you're losing weight. This VHC has helped me gain 18 pounds since my Oct. surgery. I have to go buy new pants now and I'm excited about it!

SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.
