I'm thinking the Dr told me about a gland right below my ear in my jaw and didn't mean my neck. My daughter checked it out ant told me, but LOL, I forget the name of the gland. Sure sounds like cartoid tho. I can tell you one thing, if my right ear doesn't stop hurting more everyday, I'm gonna have to mix up some mortar and pour it in. My lip has quit hurting , but still waiting for my tongue to throw in the towel and quit hurting.
