I learned early on in the military to get copies of everything from dental records to medical reports and test results. I took them by hand everywhere I went. When the military ships you to 3 different duty stations around the world in less than 18 months, your medical records and personnel files never get there until you are already on your way to someplace else. Not all patients can tell the new doctors everything about what has happened to them in the last year. Cancer patient
