It sounds like you have a plan in place. Like Gary mentioned most of the cards and offers of help come right away. I let my machine take messages if I didn't want to talk at that time. My wife took a week or two off post surgery. Her being a nurse was a godsend. I went through radiation and chemo alone. Drove myself back and forth 35 miles one way. I was lucky not to experience alot of side effects from both. You must be in control of your treatment and healing phase. Educating yourself on this website is so important. There are some really dedicated knowledgeable members of this forum whom you can tap for information and concerns. Someone will always answer. The family choice is yours alone. Like Gary said some who you wouldn't have counted on may surprise you. It's your life. As you start your treatment please know I and many members of this forum are praying and pulling for you. You can vent here anytime. I to was a stage four and in July it will be two years for me. You can beat this. One day you will be the one offering newcomers advice and sharing your treatment experience's. I see you are member #1791, I am member # 853 and I joined in July of 03. We continue to grow each month. Please keep us posted as you start your journey.
Best Wishes, Danny Boy
