Hi Amy. Sorry I didn't answer your post back in May, I didn't see it until now.

Finished rt 5/24/06. Still on liquid (Ensure) diet, although attempting solid food unsuccessfully. Everything tastes horrible. Have an appt with the hematology/oncology chemo doctor Monday. The decision whether or not to resume chemo is weighing heavily on me.

This 'unknown primary' business is nasty. As I understand it, it's possible the primary is microscopic, or even that my body has defeated it through the lymph system. I'm not looking forward to chemo (Cisplatin + Docetaxol), but will undergo it if there is some evidence that it will prevent a recurrence. Most HNC patients do chemo + rt at the same time, so I don't know how it works out in my situation.

dx 2/13/06. modified radical neck dissection 3/9/06 multiple biopsies of upper airway and direct laryngoscopy. 1 of 47 lymph nodes positive for metastatic undifferentiated carcinoma (lymphoepithelioma). Unknown primary. Finished radiation 5/24/06.
