Delaying could mean the difference between something that can easily be treated or the sore spreading and if it would be cancer it could be fatal. Even though you are dependent on your mother, you are old enough to speak up and explain to her this is not going away and must be dealt with. With her medical background she should understand the seriousness of your situation. At the very least a biopsy would give an answer as to whats going on so a solution can be found.
