Great news Andrew.
Re the lymph node - Kris had a necrotic node removed 5 months post rads and chemo. They did a level 2 - 4 dissection.
I wonder if this contributed to our " good news" when 8 months later he needed salvage surgery for a recurrence. At this time he had a bilateral radical neck dissection too . The team were astonished that he had no evidence of disease in any lymph nodes.
Just a thought.

PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
