My ENT did not even take out the area that showed on the PET scan. He took out the huge ulcer that was at the back of my tongue. It was growing everyday and that is what had people worried. I am at home now, as it was an outpatient procedure. However, I did loose a good portion of my tongue, he did not take soo much that I can not talk. He wanted to make sure he got clear margins in case it was cancer. Now we begin to schedule to HBO chamber. I hate the gift of radiation. Why does it have to keep on giving?
