However since my radiation I have been asking and telling all my Drs that I thought the radiation messed with my thyroids and I just happened to get the right Dr to listen to me and ordered lab test and it came back that my thyroid is lower. I am not sure how to respond to this. I felt like gloating that I was right and that if the Drs would listen to me things would go better. I told the Drs for two years I had cancer under my tounge but he wanted to treat me for herpies and gingivitus. Wow I never went to med school so that leads me to my question, what is synthroid 88 mcg and what does it mean when he said that my thyroid was loiwer? I know I should have asked but there was so much going on at the time I didn't. Thanks, Brenda

No one listened to me either for a long time. I knew I had cancer and they would just blow me off in the erooms. If I wouldn't have had my 3 month scope scheduled and been thinking ?? I asked My Dr that operated on my esophagus and ans abdominal anneurysm, if he would check out my mouth and tongue. When i woke up he told me he already made an appy for me with a very good cancer surgeon. Man I was glad i remembered to ask him. At least you know you were right and when you find out bout the reading,, post it will you? Good luck and best of wishes.

When he said lower, your thyroid wasn't producing enough, so the synthroid is raising the production. Here's more from this site on hypothyroid (Hypo is under-production; Hyper is over production), more of which can be found by using the search engine on the MAIN PAGE: http://www.oralcancerfoundation.org...ID%3A11&q=thyroid&sa=Search#1048

We should use super lube for a longer smoother ride. LOL I need those bear hugs daily Brenda. They just do something to make the EGO more positive and when it's from a pretty lady such as you, so much more enjoyable. When I went to Wheeling Hospital yesterday to get tha script, I was getting all the hugs I could handle from the girls that did my radiation. They are so special, caring and pretty that I wanted to put one in my pocket and bring her home. LOL I was glad to see that Pete answered your question about the thyroid reading. Pete is very helpful to many. Have a good day Brenda, I have to go to my daughters thi morning. They found her ex at the bottom of the stairs. Only about 44 but on drugs and way too heavy so they think heart did him in. Best peds nurse in the area until he got hooked.

With the thyroid I never know if my dosage is correct since I'm not sure if I feel as energetic as I would had I not had cancer. Makes sense? In fact Friday I stopped by my PCP and he gave me some samples of 113 and said it shouldn't make any difference.

Oopps I do love me some french vanilla cappachino. Starbucks here I caome. I hope you are feeling better. My mom says that if the pain is unbearable to take the dang pills the dr gave me, well at one time I was taking 7-8 vicodine a day. TOO MUCH, thats why I went on a bitching spree and started yelling at all my smarter then me Drs and finally I get results. Ok so now I take maybe three vicodine a day and maybe one percocet. This other medicine he put me on for my thyroids is giving me such a headache and turning me so witcchy that I have been giving my pregnant daughter pure doo doo. She doesn't deserve this from me she hasn't done anything to me. So in the morning I am going to rant and rave if I have to and get that Dr to figure out whats wrong with me. I hate myself when I get like this because I cant help it. You know how you feel when you feel trapped you fight well I am fighting the wrong person. I am glad that medicine is working for you and do be careful with that patch I have heard some wild things about it.
Thanks David for the input on the meds that the dr put me on but does it make you grouchy? Headaches so bad you feel it in your eyes all the way around to your neck and just thinking about it makes you want to scream out but wont because it would hurt? That is what is going on with me. Well I think a group hug is called for ((( ((( ((( hug hug hug )))) ))) ))). Well off to bed and my nightmares again. Good night all remember to smile and keep thinking only happy thoughts. Something like a great big fat juicy GREASY double cheeze burger loaded and a large French fry!!! OR even some spagetti with lots and lots of sause yum. Brenda

If you think it's the thyroid meds then get yourself right back to the Doc that prescribed them and tell him/her your symptoms -- You won't get it right until you do that.
I've never had headaches from synthroid and I've been taking it in a number of doses for about 15 years.
