I said the doctors are lying to me and she said yes, she said there was nothing wrong with my kidney. I said I really need someone to set and and talk to me about all of this, she said its all a lie, came back in one month and left. How can the cat scan, lab worker and all doctots but her be wrong. I wish they where. I had been to my gp a few days before about my husband, elec. wheel chair and He was talking about me one, I said I don't need one, I'm going to get better. He said I can see the two of you riding down thou the mall, he said they do make them two seatter. I said again I'm going to get better aren't I, He never did answer. He said come back in a month and left. I don't know, do they even know, before I have more test. but most days even with cane I fall down. the last two days I've been crying a lot, not because of the illness, but because I need to know. I'm the type if I know I may cry, but than I get over it and get ready for it. other wise I set around and worry. should I have comfronted her with paperwork,I would love to believe her, BUT she is the same one who told me and my family that she got all the cancer, it wasnt on the bone.and I had nothing to worry about. 10 days later she told me it was on the bone and she couldn't get a clear margin. when I asked her about side effects of treatment, she told me she could have tore out my jaw and took a hunk out of my arm to fix it, and people think I'm crazy, I just want someone to tell me the truth and I'm going to a kidney doctor Fri. how much do I ask him, Is it ok to ask about test and different ways to treat it or should I just go in and keep my mouth shut and do as I'm told, should I ask for copies of my records there? another thing my gp ask for a copy of my records and lab work from the cancer the other day and I gave them to him ( I make a copy and carry last 2 visits with me to every doc. most want them) shouldn't they already have copies? Sorry to bother you all again, your all so nice and helpful, when it come to cancer I can't help on one. cause I don't know anything about it, beside what i learn in here.

Sounds like you should have a new doctor. I know its the surgeon you saw who said the others all lied to you, but still. Find a new doctor even though you dont have alot of choices where you live. Try to find a new one who will be more open and talk to you so you can understand everything. Do you have access to a Social Worker/Service in your hospital or community that you can speak with?

I sure don't blame you for being upset! Definitely get another doctor and get things straightened out. Tell them clearly that you want straight honest answers. Type out on a paper exactly what you posted, and give it to the first doctor you see.
I suggest typing it out and giving it to them so that you get to say it all. Too often in the midst of an appointment, we forget 1/2 the things we wanted to say.
Good luck.

It's never advisable (nor professional) to take such a strong, I'm digging myself into a deep hole, position without first at least reading everything you had in your hands.

In the UK we have a charity with qualified nurses called the Macmillan nurses. They are always around the hospitals and cancer patients. They can help with pain, advice, maybe help to get through to doctors as well as help with the social care side of things. I tried to look on the internet for an equivalent in the US but couldn't find anything. Maybe your GP or consultant knows of something like that near you?

The next doctor I see is a new one, from clinical professor of medicine of medicine UC san Francisca, Nephrology internal medicine. I don't want him to think I'm trouble before he gets to know me. which she knows I'm going, she most likely will sent him a report. She will not give me any of her records, and she made me sign a paper before 1st. visit that she or her staff would not take part in any law suite. I had never seen a paper like that at a doctor's office, have any of you? well I'm looking at bright side, that I will just have to take new pills the rest of my life and watch what I eat. With all the food I can eat now, it will be no problem to give up a few more....lol. have a great day.

You deserve to be treated with respect. A good doctor is not threatened by peers that disagree with their medical opinion and confers with them for the good of the pt. If you like the new doctor tell them about your difficulty with the surgeon. They may be able to help you or can direct you to people who can.You can still talk to your GP if it doesn't pan out. You have enough stress without having your doctor behave like an idiot. In Oregon we are able to access Drs Medical Board standing in the state. They're the place pt's complaints are sent.To get well you need to have doctors that will work with you. Go get'um Rubyann. Sweetpea
