Someone needs to be with her when she goes to Doc and has this stuf explained to her -- She is likely confused because she is trying to absorb the first thing the Doc says and doesn't even hear the second or third thing -- The second person is less involved, can take notes and ask questions.

If she is not being treated at a National Cancer Institute-designated (NCI) Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC), her case should at least be submitted to one for second opinion, if not actual treatment. The CCC will have Docs from all of the appropriate skill areas and will have treated more cases in a year than most single Docs see in a lifetime.

List of CCC's here:

The more details you can list here (best place is in signature area so you don't have to repeat it), the better we understand it.

Hello Leveta

I am sorry that your mother is going through this. She is so fortunate to have a caring daughter to be her caregiver. There are lots of supportive people here that will try to answer your questions. You can also search the site or the forums.

Several of us have had some of the surgeries that might be used to treat your mother's cancer and our qualities of life are very good. Did the doctor's say what stage her cancer is? Also have the doctor's said what type of surgery she may need? The may not know until after the biopsy in April.

You joined in on an existing post of Sweetpeas, so some members may have trouble finding your questions to answer them. You might want to start a New Post and copy your questions to a new message. I know that everyone will be eager to help you get some answers.

Patty
