Good news....If he's like most of us he will NEVER have to shave under his chin again. Saves time and materials. That's the CPA in me.
Thirty-odd years ago, I grew a beard and only shaved under my chin about twice a week -- In a former life as a Corporate Cubicle Convict, a colleague gave me a package of Wilkerson Sword razor blades and joked that he had given me a Lifetime Supply!

After TX ended, my neck burn did not get any worse. As best I can recall it was about the same for the first week then quickly improved.

Also I didn't have any more nausea, but I was real tired for the first month of recovery.

Don - that's what I like to hear! I hope Tim's recovery goes as well as yours did. Today's the last day of radiation. YEA!

Thanks, all!

Good Morning Wendy,
My mom had awful neck and collar burns! I used the aquaphor and we were also told to do domeboro soaks, I recall they felt wonderful to her--just make sure that you use very soft gauze or maybe a baby washcloth.
I was also given some great advice from someone here to take pictures of my mom as she was healing. At first it seemed a bit unsettling to do, but really within a matter of a week to have something to look back at gave us so much encouragement.
I believe the aquaphor was also the best choice for her.
My mom started receiving HBO tx's in the early summer and recently finished, though I think she may be receiving more soon. I wish I could go and sit through one with her....it's amazing how wonderful she looks! I think as CG we should be allowed a few sessions smile
I'm not with her right now so I can't go and see what was given for the nausea, I'm fairly certain I may have written something about it in an earlier post, probably from Oct. 07.
WOW!! I can't believe it's a whole year! I suppose I should be posting somewhere else about that subject!!
My mom survived on pepsi--I know with a sore tongue! (This was prior to her brachy therapy). She also ate Campbells DOUBLE NOODLE Chicken Noodle soup. It is bland and the noodles were easy to swallow.
Wendy, it was so hard as a CG; so many questions to which the answers seem so few. Trial and error seemed the path we all have had to make...once and a while you get a home run!
Let me know if you need me to ask the pharmacist about the nausea medication, my brain seems to have fogged since when all this started but it is coming back!! Mom had the 'chemo brain' and I don't know what to call what happened to mine!!

Just wondering....are you Phillies fans?
So excited about the World Series! Maybe that will give your hubby something different to think about? Anything different that didn't involve tx's helped my mom!
