I have just discovered this at the health food store. It is with all the soy milks but these days they have all sorts of other milks too. There is a naturally flavored hazlenut milk that is deliciou and especially when combined into a shake with creamy caramel ice cream. I know right at the end of radiation I couldn't taste anything sweet but that others here have said they kept their sweet taste all the way through. The hazlenut milk is definitely sweet but not just corn-syrup sweet as so many other things are (including Boost and most of those other nutrition drinks) and high in calories and reasonably nutritious so I thought I'd recommend it.

Nelie:

It sounds like it would be soothing to those who are suffering from a sore mouth. To me it sounds like it would taste delicious, Im going to give it a try.

Thanks,

Christine

There is also almond milk (almond breeze). It is sold at either Publix or Kroger. Check on the net.

I am going to be like Donna and go buy some of this milk. I take muscle milk that you mix with water and it's not bad, LOL but who needs muscles?? Have a great day all.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Jim, Maybe you could mix the muscle milk with the hazlenut milk. Markus is right they also have almond milk (as well as rice and oat milk), all of which might be worth a try as a change from the usual but I have to say I am becoming quite hooked on the hazlenut stuff.....

Wegmans carries their own brand of caramel cream ice cream which, mixed with the hazelnut milk, makes a great shake. But I bet if you can't find caramel ice cream, vanilla with caramel sauce would work too.......
