I had full body scan and only a 1cmm spot showed up in throat. He also said carcinoma in situ would also light up.
Surely such a tiny spot doesn't require the stripping away of my esophagus, voice box, raising stomach etc like the chief of staff was going to do to me in HUP. I'm so angry with him I'm having a problem getting over it. They say time heals all wounds, I hope so.
Now I've a problem finding an ENT to remove this without butchering me. Going to call Ins. Co. Monday and see if they can help.
Thanks for your info and good wishes Good luck to you all

What wonderful news! Hope your search for an ENT and the following procedure is quick and as successful as the scan was.
All the best,
Elaine

I know what you mean. I went through 6 docs before I found Moffitt and all the Tx plans were different. The 4th doc, who I still refer to as Dr Death, told me things I still angrily remember but he was also the one that got me in to see the people at Moffitt so that helps with my anger.

It's easy to get angry, but try not to remain angry. Just always remember that all Doctors do not know all the answers all the time. Use your resources well, and try to move on. That is why this forum is here. We have all had many strange medical encounters out there. The sooner that you put it behind you, the better off you will be. Celebrate all the good news.
All the best, Rob J.

It was a horror story. To put it simply, he wrote my husband off. The current doctor told us to put it behind us and concentrate on the now. It was good advice and everytime that doctors' name comes up we remind ourselves what are current doctor said. He told us to put the energy into the current situation..and we did..For myself, being in the nursing field we discuss doctors from time to time. I can assure you I will be the first person to speak up about this doctor. I also made it clear to our family doctor my feelings regarding this doctor. Tell 25 people, then they tell 25 more, then..and it goes on...These doctors should be accountable. Hope all works out for you...Carol...

Had she not been a strong and smart advocate for her own quality of life, she would have ended up in very, very bad shape -- and for no good reason. This is not to say one should doctor shop until hearing what pleases, but it seems prudent to seek concurring second and perhaps third opinions when drastic treatment is recommended.
