I leave the trays in for about 20 minutes every morning. The direction say 5 minutes then don't eat or drink anything for 20 minutes. I kind of just put them in and forget about them while I get ready for work. I hadn't heard of a foam for home use, but I'm going to ask about it.

I then hop into bed and read for about an hour, swishing the stuf around occasionally and then spit it out.
I have the trays, but when I first started using them during radiation removing them was causing nausea, so I never got into the habit.
The dentist charges almost $20 for a tube of Prevident, but the pharmacy only charges $3 with my prescription plan (Medco).

Wow, my dentist gives me those tubes free or should I say the hygentist gives them to me just like a toothbrush and toothpaste each time I visit. I probably have 5 or 6 tubes in my sink drawer. I better ask for more next time to build up my inventory in case they put a stop to that practice.

He gets it as free samples from the manufacuturer, and isn't trying to make money in the middle. My foam flouride lasts a long time as well, so the Rx for that is no big deal. Little known fact - that even the Oral B foam floride products are all made under Laclede's (Biotene's) patent and most of the foam products are actually manufactured and private labeled at the Biotene plant.

My personal regimen is to use foam in disposable flouride (styrofoam) trays once every two weeks. Once a week I brush with Prevident before bed, and three times a day I brush with Biotene which also has lesser amounts of flouride in it. I am 8 years out, have all my teeth and my biggest issue has not been caries but gigival recession around the necks of the teeth. Because I have such a tough time keeping my teeth plaque and calculus free, I see a hygienist every 8 weeks.
