Four weeks ago I finished treatment for squamous cell carcinoma that had moved to the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck. The cancer originally started at the base of my tongue but there are no traces of cancer in my tongue now. I had 39 radiations and 8 concurrent Chemo treatments. (Cisplatin and Taxol). During the radio-chemo I lost no hair, but now after 4 weeks my hair has started to fall abundantly. Is this normal? Has anyone gone thru this?
Thanks

Not to worry, you are normal, as far as I know. I, too, had Taxol (the culprit as far as hair loss goes) and it was not until after all treatment was done that my hair took leave of my scalp. I can now feel new hair, but it is not long enough to see. Being cancer free at the moment and for decades more if I have anything to do about it, I look on the hair thing as a very small price to pay. Invest in a good wig, which will be more comfortable to wear now that summer is waning, and celebrate the fact that you made it though.
