Mayo called back today with a treatment plan. He had a lifetime of radiation (which I already knew) so they are going to do immuno therapy for a few months to shrink the tumor. Then they will try to use radiation on the tumor. It's in a terrible location so a reduction in size will help. Radiation will be every other day for 5 treatments.

He wasn't pleased with this outcome but it is what it is. They are still positive.

He has a phone interview hopefully this week as he needs to get a job for mental health and we need some income.

Hi Connie!

Being your husbands case is so complex, do you think your husband would agree to get a second opinion? When treatment options are so few, its important to get all the specialists you can to take a look at him. What further complicates the matter is this is a recurrence and its so soon after he just finished his other treatments. Recurrences can move very quickly so time is of the essence. If your husband will listen, try to ask if he would want to hear what another facility has to say. You never know there could be options that are just now coming out that we have not heard about yet. It certainly cant hurt to try a few phone calls that is if your husband wants to check out other options.

As you already know, OCF members are not medical professionals, that includes me too. Without a medical background, I do not know if what the specialists proposed will work for your husband or not. His case is complicated right from the start as its a recurrence and his attention to following doctors orders have not always been what they should be. I hope everything will turn out for the best for you and your husband. My fingers are crossed the treatment plan will eliminate all the cancer right away. Once he gets thru the proposed treatment plan, hopefully he will get started with his new job/career and love it. Basically Im wishing you both success with everything so you both will live happily ever after smile

Mayo was his third opinion. The previous 2 hospitals did not feel they could do much for him but Mayo has a treatment plan.

He is frustrating me through this virus. I am staying home so I do not bring any germs home with me to contaminate him (I am a very healthy individual) but he can't stay home. He's driving to town every day to purchase things. I do not want to have the guilt of thinking I made someone else sick who is already facing a huge mountain ahead but.......the rules don't apply to him (in his head).

Thanks Christine!
