Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 345 Likes: 9 | Mayo called back today with a treatment plan. He had a lifetime of radiation (which I already knew) so they are going to do immuno therapy for a few months to shrink the tumor. Then they will try to use radiation on the tumor. It's in a terrible location so a reduction in size will help. Radiation will be every other day for 5 treatments.
He wasn't pleased with this outcome but it is what it is. They are still positive.
He has a phone interview hopefully this week as he needs to get a job for mental health and we need some income.
Spouse of 58 yr old with BOT cancer
Stage 4a HPV16 positive
3 chemo treatments cisplantin
35 radiation treatments 7000 cGy
former smoker/chewed tobacco for 38 yrs.
1/2020 diagnosed with cancer near TMJ
4/2020 chemo 5 days every 2 weeks
6/2020 proton therapy
9/21/2020 cancer free
