So I am 12 rad treatments in and have 3 chemo done as well. I have been getting mouth sores but today had quite a bit of pain in one area near my tongue. When I looked in the mirror I see a slightly raised rather large white spot on my gum under my tongue. I am freaking out about it. I am terrified that it is cancer but thinking it could also be a sore from my treatments. Has anyone else ever had this kind of sore from treatments? I have radiation tomorrow and was going to have them check it out. I hate this frown Thank you for your help.

It may be from the radiation. I would not worry too much but definitely have it looked at. If it is a cancer, chances are it's in the radiation path so it will get cooked. hugs.

Hi Theresa -- if it feels different than your other sores, it may be thrush. If it is, it's easily treatable. Hope your team can get you some relief today! Hang in there --

Could be mucocitis, a fungal, bacterial or viral infection, a neutropenic ulcer, etc. As usual, show your doctor. Good luck.
