I've dipped since then...not more than one or two a day until this past October when I went up to 4 lips a day. I've noticed a small white spot on the inside of a my cheek that has been there for two weeks now and another one just showed up a few days ago. I've only been dipping for a little over a year but I'm scared to death it's cancer and have now stopped dipping. Do you think it's cancer or anything less serious cause I have only been dipping for a year? | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | I hope you will let this be your wake up call to quit using tobacco in all forms for good. There are all kinds of known cancer causing chemicals added to tobacco. Dip has fiberglass added which cuts into the gum to allow nicotine to directly enter the bloodstream. Im sorry to say that you are not too young for oral cancer. I have a friend who was diagnosed at age 17, he was a dip user and it cost him his jaw. Ok, enough of the lecture. Sorry, Im a former smoker who also lost their jaw due to using tobacco.
If the sore does not get better in 2 weeks then you need to get checked by a professional. I suggest going to an ENT who is familiar with treating oral cancer patients.
