Mick,

It's OK to be angry brotha! The key is to be able to release that anger so you can deal with it or it will chew you up and spit you out!

I felt the same way, and started dealing with it by writing in my blog on these forums and exercising like I was demon possessed. Here's a link of my journey through it that you may be able to relate to.

I think it's great that you shared this Mick. Keep it up, it helps, it certainly did for me.

Keep your chin up

Hi Mick,
You are in the perfect place to work through your anger.

Be angry. But, don't let it destroy you. OC takes enough away from patients, survivors and caregivers. Don't give it more of your life than it has already taken from you.

Don't feel rushed to feel anything different. Don't feel pressured to stay "positive". I'm sure you already know that people who don't know what it's like to be an OC survivor will say really stupid things. Try to count to 10 and just let it go. But, if it makes you feel better, speak your mind. Find safe people with whom you can vent. You have a whole bunch of them, right here. If anyone can understand, it's the people here on the forum.

Welcome to the family, Mick.

Sandy

It is hard to know how to channel the anger. I had to smile when I read your other post about threatening the male nurses. I begged my wife and son to bring me my billy club to the ICU because I fully intended to use it on the male "ghost" nurse there but they knew I actually would have so they would not bring it. -So that reaction seems perfectly normal to me.

Why wouldn't you be angry after what has happened? I'm not going to repeat Eric or Sandy's advice but it's good. Myself, I use my anger to motivate me to focus on the half full part of the chalice of my life because otherwise the very cancer I'm angry with would win
