Cecilia has started the collection fund for the flowers through a paypal account. She will have the fund ready to go for when Travis lets us know she is ok to receive flowers. If you didn't get her Facebook email on how to contribute, please send Cecilia or me a private message and we'll get you the details.

Travis, thank you for posting an update.

I doubt that flowers are allowed in ICU, Burn Unit, etc., where risk of infection is high.

I spoke to her son earlier today, we will send the flowers at the first available doctor approved moment. Interestingly enough, Travis has been keeping tabs on this as well as Christine had told him that she'd like to wake up to flowers.

While we might not be able to accommodate that, I'm sure she'll appreciate the flowers at any time even if we have to send them to her home when she is released. :-)

Hi all...I spoke to Travis tonight and they are still waking her up. The blood is not flowing correctly in her neck and they are doing leech treatment which seems to be working. I will not be seeing her tomorrow since she is not awake yet. I feel bad because that was what we had planned so I hope she isn't awake wondering why I'm not there. I don't want to intrude....sounds too early for friends still. I hope to see her soon!!!

Sending out prayers for Christine and her family. Suzanne-in my experience-she will not know that you weren't there. It will take a week, if not more, for her to be fully awake. My husband was in the hospital for over 2 weeks following the same surgery and did not remember a minute of his stay. She will know you were there in spirit.

cg to husband, 48 Stage 1V head and neck SCC. First surgery 9/07. Radiation and several rounds of chemo followed. Mets to chest and lungs. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." Went home to God on February 22, 2009.
