OP Supporting Member (50+ posts) Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 71 | June 12th checkup i got the news that my PET was clear. ENT and radiation docs are extremely pleased. Not as pleased as me and my family of course.
I got the PEG removed the same day and have now joined the 'people with two navels' group. Did you hear the one about the man born with two belly buttons? He sent one to the naval reserve. I heard that joke years ago when i was a kid and never thought i would actually be living it. But now, when i show people, i always tell them that one is for the naval reserve. It breaks the tension because some people have a hard time talking about the big C if they haven't had it. I was one of those people.
I now make sure i call on anyone with a bad illness. Having been there you have an insight as to what to say and most important, what NOT to say! That's one of the great things about this forum. Those of you who are regular contributors are giving extreme moral support to those of us who have come here for answers.
Thanks for the answers, support and everything. I will be checking in regularly. And, if i see a post where i can contribute, I will.
I actually have a recovery question i'm going to post as soon as i submit this that i'm going to post in the appropriate forum.
