Hi, Bob, if you are experimentling with canned soups, that "way too salty" taste is all of the sodium added to enhance the taste. You can make your own easily with canned low sodium beef or chicken broth [Swansons is good] and add noodles, pureed carrots, peas, etc. Also, dark meat chicken]from the leg and thigh] are very moist and easy to swallow. Cut into tiny pieces and add to your soup base. Trial and error is what it takes. Keep going. Amy in the Ozarks
