Unfortunately MRSA is all too common in our hospitals in the UK. The hospital where Martin for his TX got fined because of how bad it was. Touch wood Martin didn't catch it.
I know many people who did get MRSA and were successfully treated via intravenous antibiotics, but i can't tell you exactly which ones. It seems like a tough bug to kill, but they know how to do it now.
All I know is that in when in the hopsital I always clean my hands at the disinfectant gel stations, and carry my own little gel. It seems to be the best way to stop it from spreading. I wash my hands and wrists when I change sections/ wards and after i had to touch doors or buttons. I know it seems a bit excessive but I didn't want to spread it anywhere just in case it was on my hands.
Hope all goes well.
