My mrsa staph infection was spotted by the doctor because i had several sores on my hands and feet, some in my nails. They were very concerned because of the sores showing up in different places, that it could be in my bloodstream. They hospitalized me and put me on intravenous antibiotics. Biopsies were taken, which in a few days confirmed the mrsa. My room was quarantined, visitors having to wear jump suits and not touch me or my laundry. They told me the big concern was sepsus, where the infection moves into the heart and causes failure. So I also was given 2 different heart scan, which turned out negative. After about a week, I was taken off the iv antibiotics and sent home with antibiotic pills. The treatment must have worked, because everything cleared up.
