Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,128 | Scans aren't cheap here, but they would likely be cheaper if they did more of them -- You divide the cost of the machine by the expected number of scans in its useful life to find what it costs you per scan -- If you don't take enough scans, it costs a lot per scan! Same thing goes for the guy running the machine and the Doc who reads the scan.
Sometimes the financially ignorant are behind these "savings" moves.
