This morning I met with the surgeon and my latest xrays and ct scan have showed that the bone looks good and it has knitted. That is a huge relief.

The plan now is to unscrew and remove that particular metal plate that is exposed and obviously stitch it back together. The amount of metal around my jaw area is unbelievable - (I could open a scrap metal factory)

A couple of weeks ago he was unsure whether the area would heal properly as all around my neck and under my chin the skin is so tight and has been fryed so much from the radiotherapy that I may have needed a skin graft to assist, but as the bone is looking good he now believes that with dressings alone the skin/tissue will mend ok.

Now, if all goes according to plan the hospital will be notifying me shortly and I will be getting that done within the next couple of weeks.

I certainly am not going to get ahead of my self but, then I can get back on track and look to get some teeth implants - one step at a time though...

thanks to those again for your PMs
