Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 718 | Our dietitian calculated a protein goal based on Dan's weight from day 1. She was very diligent on checking up on that weekly. Michelle, if you don't want to invest in a case of VHC, ask your dietitian for samples. Our dietitian gave us lots of different samples to try to increase calories and protein. My husband was about the only person I know of who couldn't handle the VHC because of the thickness and problems with swallowing. But, for most people it has been a lifesaver.

Dx 5/18/07 SCC, BOT, lymph node involvement. T1N2BM0. (Stage 4a, G2/3)
Tx 6/18 - 8/3/07, IMRT x 33 Cisplatin x3 (stopped after 1st dose due to hearing issues). Weekly Erbitux started 6/27/07 completed 8/6/07.
