It is true that some cancer cases are not best handled by IMRT. If your RO says you can have IMRT then I would always trust that they know more than any of us. (Likewise if all of the professionals said you could not get IMRT then that would be for good reason.)
In your case it sounds like the best RO says IMRT will work for you and most of us non-professionals think you'll be better off with IMRT.
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
