Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 1,116 | THanks for writing to me all....Colleen, the first oral cancer was my tongue and two lymph nodes 5 years ago, geeeezzzzzzzz, I just bragged a bit too much I suppose this past May when I hit the 5 year mark....my oral surgeon, who I absolutely love, told me this a Second Primary of SCC on the soft palate......I will keep you posted, he is meeting with my oncologist and I am getting a petscan on Tuesday, then will meet with my surgeon and another surgeon at Univ of Md. on Wed......Love to All, Carol
Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10
