Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 1,116 | Welllll, the oral surgeon said it is scc, probably stage 1. I will have a pet scan of head and neck Mon or Tuesday, Wed. will talk with surgeons re: my surgery. I have already had radiation,(5 years ago for tongue cancer) so at this point, it doesn't look like it would be an option.....the scariest thing is, well there are two things actually, hopefully it has not spread and the doctor mentioned having to split my jaw to get to it......all prayers and good thoughts welcome.....thanks so much, Carol
Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10
