I think it was Eckhart Tolle that said "You cannot change what you don't accept". It seems the first reaction most people have when something bad or unpleasant happens is "Oh, No!". But after the initial "Oh, No!" if we can accept the situation, we can be better able to figure out how to deal with it in positive ways. After all, how can you change something if you are still in the "Oh, No!" stage? For me, when my son was diagnosed with SCC, and after the initial shock, I went into fight mode and kept telling myself and my son that we would fight it with everything we had. And with the help of OCF and the great people here, we did! Tomorrow, Paul and I will be celebrating his 7th year of being cancer-free!
